Associates Luncheon: Little Rock, Ark.

Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008 – Representatives from approximately 50 organizations and all levels of government were on hand in Little Rock to hear the Alliance’s Honorary Chair, Senator Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), discuss the future of energy and climate change policy as well as the role of energy efficiency in shaping those policies. The event, sponsored by Trane, was one of a regular series of events for Alliance Associates.


Please join the Alliance in congratulating our Green Campus program interns for sweeping the Best Practices in Student Energy Efficiency Awards at the 2008 UC/CSU/CCC Sustainability Conference! This is the fourth straight year that the Green Campus programs have dominated the energy efficiency award.

With over 1,100 attendees looking on at ceremony at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, UC Berkeley interns were recognized for their residence hall energy competitions, and Chico State University for their energy-focused academic courses. UC Santa Cruz also received an honorable mention for their CFL exchange campaign. Congratulations to all the Green Campus interns for their hard work promoting energy efficiency!


Washington, DC, August 2008— The National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) and the Alliance to Save Energy have teamed up in a number of ways to "drive forward" the Alliance's Drive $marter Challenge campaign designed to save drivers hundreds of dollars on gasoline and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

July 29, 2008 – The Alliance to Save Energy supports the critical energy efficiency provisions and extensions of the federal efficiency tax provisions that are included in S. 3335, the Jobs, Energy, Families & disaster Relief Act of 2008, which will be considered by the Senate this week. A key vote is expected in the Senate tomorrow which will determine whether the tax incentives will be approved by the Senate before the August recess.

Today, Alliance President Kateri Callahan participated in a press conference, called by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, to discuss the need for and benefit to the American people of passage of such legislation:
